All the finer details about the Ellimatta Youth Fun Run
Race pack pickup
If you have not selected to have your pack posted to you, race packs can be collected from Ellimatta Youth Centre Kinglake on Wednesday 5th October from 12pm – 8pm or Friday October 7th from 10am – 4pm or on the Race Day Sunday 9th October from 8am.
If sent by post your race pack will provide details for the day of the event -start time, warm up etc. If collected you will receive this information in an email so that you have it to hand prior to collection.
We encourage and welcome all participants and their families to join us in the finishing area to welcome other runners and walkers over the line and enjoy free face painting, jumping castle, trade stalls and healthy breakfast on offer. There will be a coffee vendor available also.
Please remember to bring your race bib to the event as we cannot guarantee a replacement. Your race bib has your timing chip already attached to it and will only activate when you pass through the starting line. Your timing finishes the moment you pass through the finish line. Please do not bend or fold your timing chip on your bib as it will void any results. Your timing chip does not need to be returned so you are welcome to keep your bib after the race.
Car parking is limited in the immediate area surrounding the event. There is parking in town and close to the event. Be prepared to walk up to 500 metres to the start line. It is strongly recommended to grab a group of friends or your family and do something healthy for yourselves and car pool – it’s win, win!
We have only 16 lockers on site – and you will need to bring your own lock and key. Our friendly staff may be able to help with storage however we ask you not to bring valuables to the run. It’s best that you make arrangements to store you own personal items. We are not responsible for the loss or damage to any items while stored in our lockers.
Toilets are located at the Start/Finish Line including a disabled access toilet.
This is located at Elllimatta Youth Inc. 94 Whittlesea Kinglake Road Kinglake Victoria 3763. Please arrive at the assembly area at least 20 minutes before your event.
A canteen serving affordable healthy breakfast is available. A coffee van is available for the purchase of hot drinks.
There are two water stations situated around the course.
Starting line order
The running order for the day is listed above with the times of each run. If you are a slower runner or running with a pram, please position yourself towards the back. If you are a competitive runner you are welcome to position yourself towards the front, but note the timing chip is not activated until you pass through the starting line.
This is the first time we have run this event so we hope to be able to stick to these times however we do ask for your forgiveness in the case we run a little off track (excuse the pun).

|It is recommended that you arrive at Ellimatta Youth Centre at least 20 minutes before the gun goes. You will need to park and the later you arrive the further you may have to park from the Centre. Non Competitive (friendly) Fun Runners and Walkers are encouraged to start at the back of the pack to ensure a nice smooth race for everyone.|

To keep the day flowing smoothly and to ensure your safety, each event will be started in small waves. The waves will be determined by your expected finish time. You will assemble into these designated areas at the start line and we request that you stay in these waves.
Bikes, skateboards, roller blades or scooters are not permitted on the course as they are deemed hazardous to fellow participants. Prams/strollers are permitted however no pets are allowed to participate in the event for health and safety reasons.
Results will be available that afternoon on race day. Results will also be available on our website from Monday 10th October.
Is my registration fee tax deductible?
Your registration fee is not tax deductible. While the whole of your registration fee goes directly to the cause, you are participating in an event and thus receiving a service. Therefore, it does not qualify as a tax deduction.
